Founded in 2024 in Nairobi, SmartPay began with a simple observation: integrating M-Pesa into a product was far harder than it needed to be. Every developer was reinventing the same wheel — auth flows, callback handling, fraud prevention, rate limiting.

We built the platform we wished existed: one endpoint, one auth header, and a full suite of fraud detection, KYC, and analytics built in from day one. Not as expensive add-ons — as table stakes.

Today, SmartPay processes over KSh 2B in payments for 1,000+ Kenyan businesses. We're focused on Kenya and doing it right — before we do anything else.
